Daisy - Marc Jacobs Fragrance Review

As a stay at home mom there are few things that don't involve my handsome son that make my day. One would be a trip to Target alone. Another would be seeing someone in a FedEx uniform jog up to my door holding a box.

Today's delivery contained this sleek white box:

I'm a huge fan of good branding/packaging and this box made me happy. Inside this pretty little box was:
One 3.4 oz bottle of Daisy Marc Jacobs Eau de Parfum
One 4.2 oz bottle of Daisy Eau So Fresh
One Daisy Mini
Twelve Daisy samples to share
Daisy Chain supplies including: daisy bracelet supplies, a tablecloth, white & gold balloons with ribbons, faux daisy heads to decorate with & a brochure.

How awesome is this kit? I've previously tried Daisy Marc Jacobs Eau de Parfum strolling through Sephora but I had never purchased for myself. I figured as far as reviewing them I would start small and work my way up to the big bottle.
Let's start with packaging. How freaking cute are these bottles? I mean..really, look at how cute they are! The flower petals are rubbery and so perfectly dainty.

The first scent I tried was the Daisy Eau de Parfume. It has been a while since I haven't been able to stroll a Sephora without a three year old "coloring" with lip liners or expensive lipsticks so I honestly had forgotten how good this smells. The brochure explains the scent so perfectly, "Daisy is a timeless fragrance by Marc Jacobs that carries a sophisticated, delicate floral scent perfect for eclectic spontaneous women. Fresh, feminine and innocent, Daisy encompasses hints of violet and notes of strawberry, ruby red grapefruit, and creamy vanilla for an enchanting fresh scent of warmth and comfort."
I honestly couldn't have said it better myself, but I shall try.
As far as scents go, I am NOT a fan of citrus. It often leaves a burning feeling in my nose and I can't handle it. Candles, sprays, anything citrus cannot happen in my home. This, despite the citrus-y description, was so subtle and delicate. It was floral and warm and..whimsical..yeah..whimsical.
I could absolutely see wearing this daily. It's a scent that would not only be good for skipping through a field, but also good for a night out. I love having a scent that translates well to different settings and this one fits the bill.

The second scent was the Daisy Eau So Fresh. This one had a lovely pinkish tint compared to the classic golden tint of the Eau de Parfum. I haven't had the pleasure of trying this one before so I was "flying blind." I splashed some of this on before heading out to a farmers market with my son. The scent was sweet, floral, playful, fresh and lovely. It is a bit more floral than Daisy proper but that is right up my floral alley. It's been a while since I've had people say "what perfume are you wearing?!" when out on the town (my previous regular scent is Coach Poppy) but I had 3-4 women ask me and 1 man! It completely embodies what I think a scent should be: mature, but fun and flirty and I love that.

This weekend I will be having my lady friends over and we will jumping on the MJ Daisy Train and crafting ourselves some Daisy bracelets with the lovely items provided below:
I can't wait to hand out the samples to my girls & hear what they think about Daisy.

You can get these scents for yourself at Sephora online at www.Sephora.com or in store.

Getting Started with Origami Owl

When I signed up to be an Independent Designer, I didn't have the slightest clue what I was doing. I didn't know anyone other designers, I was flying blind. I was able to find my mentor after a few days of foot work but if my future self could go back and help my past self it would go something like this:

Signing Up
You're going to want to start by visiting the Opportunity tab just to read up on a few key points about being a designer. Once you've read through the short list, you can click on the "Tools For Success" button located at the bottom or go HERE (same place.) At the Tools For Success page you will find the information on the Business Basic Package. The package is FULL of wonderful items that will help you kick start your business and is an INCREDIBLE savings. The price for this package is $149.99 plus tax and shipping. Once you've read through all the awesome things you will be getting soon in your kit, you can click the "Continue" button to be taken to the Designer Enrollment page. Here you will enter in your personal information (contact information, shipping information, where you heard about Origami Owl and most importantly: your replicated website url.) This is VERY important and I will tell you why in a moment. Now at the top of this form, it will ask you for your mentor i.d. #. Your mentor is something that should be chosen by YOU and not left to chance. The nest WILL select one for you so it's best to choose one you are familiar with either by email, phone, text..just someone you know you can reach and will be there to help guide you while you learn to fly.

Your Replicated Website Url should be something short & sweet. I HIGHLY suggest selecting something that is the same across all media you plan on using for your O2 business. For example, my replicated website url is: www.TaraSellsLockets.OrigamiOwl.com my gmail address is TaraSellsLockets@Gmail.com and my Facebook page is www.Facebook.com/TaraSellsLockets. The repetition is not only going to make it easier for you to remember, but easier from your potential customers to remember as well. If you choose for all of your points of contact to have different names, it could get a little confusing and hard to remember. One thing you don't want is for your potential customers to forget all the different places to contact/purchase through you and move on to whatever Designer they can get ahold of.

Yay! Now you're all signed up! So exciting!
Take a moment to compose yourself..It's hard, I know. There may be some wording in the email confirmation about a wait list. Disregard this. Prior to you joining the Origami Owl family, there was a looooong wait list of potential designers (they were called "Designers In Wait" or "D.I.W.s") but there is no longer a wait list and you will receive a follow up email within a day or two at the latest with your log in information. Once you receive that follow up email, you are ready to go!

Already signed up and left your mentor i.d. # blank?
It's ok! Don't worry about it! (I did the SAME thing.) ;) You have two options right now. For the first 7 days or so you will not have a mentor until The Nest assigns you one. Your other option is becoming a member of my team! We would love to have you! What you will need to do is click Here (Contact Us) select "Designer" then "Compliance" and fill out the form with your contact information. In the Message portion, you would just explain that you would like to be placed with Mentor ID #9266073 Tara Probst (Hey, that's me!) and follow up the next day at (888) 491-0331 to confirm The Nest got the message and won't select one for you.

Stay tuned for part 2 of my "Getting Started with Origami Owl" where I will give you some pointers on the days after sign up.

Origami Owl review - End of week 3

Today I am just days away from the end of my 3rd week as an Origami Owl Independent Designer. I figured since I will be spending the next few days stuffing my face & shopping in between naps, now would be a good time to kind of share my experiences with O2 thus far.

I signed up on November 8th after a LOT of persistence from my mother. She received a beautiful living locket as a gift from her supervisors earlier this year and that's where her obsession started. She loved her gift so much she wanted me to start selling it. After many texts, phone calls, and overall persistence on her part, I broke down and signed up to become an Origami Owl Independent Designer. I received my Designer I.D. # 9266073 and hit the ground running by purchasing my Business Basics Kit for $149.

As I anxiously awaited the arrival of my basic kit, I started doing research. Endless google searches for tips on how to build my business, set up an online launch party to let all of my friends and family know that they could now get Origami Owl products from me, and took a ton of notes on how to be a successful Origami Owl Designer. I wanted to treat this like it was my business, not a hobby. Hobbies cost money..businesses make money.

A few days later, my kit came. I was so excited when the mailman came I think I scared him. You would have thought he was Publishers Clearinghouse the way I threw open the door. I couldn't wait to tear open my kit and see all of the sparkly funs inside.

I spent the next two hours taking everything out and admiring the pieces, and reading through my Origami Owl Tools For Success. Between the time I signed up, and the time my kit arrived, I had searched the all powerful Google for a mentor in my area. I knew no one who sold Origami Owl and wanted someone in my general area. I emailed a potential mentor and she called that night and answered all the questions I had, gave me some pointers, and the next day I sent an email to the nest requesting her as my mentor. She added me to the Facebook group for our team (which is FULL of amazing women who ask any questions they have & overall just support the stuffing out of each other.)

As my Jewelry Bar Launch Party came to a close, I had sold quite a bit of jewelry, scheduled a few jewelry bars, and even had booked a spot at a local farmers market. Within the first week, I had over 250 Personal Volume and growing. I was going to sleep comfy in my bed, and waking up to new orders from the other side of the country! That still blows my mind and is one of my favorite things.

What I love about Origami Owl is that YOU choose how you sell it. I am a stay at home mom. I have three beautiful step children and a 3 year old monster of my own so finding time in between my taxi job, my chef job, my maid job, my nurse job, my tutor job, my lost & found job, my laundry person job…you get where I'm going with this..was something that I was a little nervous about. The first week I sat down and made a list. I would spend X amount of hours working in my home office daily. I worked during nap times, and after bed times and was so amazed at how successful my business was becoming with just a few hours a day. I have since kicked it into high gear and am more organized to make sure I get the things I want to do done. I host parties, I do online events, I sell individually to strangers, I do community events..but at the end of the day, I could choose and number of those and still be successful and I love that. It is 100% what I put into it.

Being an Origami Owl Independent Designer is EXACTLY what I needed to regain my sense of ME..which can easily be lost in the day to day of being a stay at home mom. As we prepare to gather with family tomorrow, I am so thankful for this company, my team, and the opportunities that await me.  I can't wait to see where I am this time next year.

If you would like to ask me any questions (Really, don't be like me..ANY questions, there are no dumb ones or ones I am too busy for..My goal is to help other people start their journey because I love mine SO much.) If you would like to speak to me about joining my team, or even select me as your mentor (my mentor I.D. # 9266073) I would LOVE to speak with you! Don't put it off like I did..start your journey today! *I would suggest contacting me PRIOR to signing up JUST so I can give you some helpful pointers about the sign up process..this doesn't mean you HAVE to select me as your mentor, I just want to help make you as successful as you can be weather you join my team or not.)
